3M Adhesives
Sometimes you need a label that stands up to heat, cold, chemicals, U.V., moisture and/or solvents (and sometimes you don’t). From adhering labels to high or low surface energy plastics to assuring that appliance faceplates remain intact at extremely high operating temperatures, adhesives make the difference and 3M has them all.
Among the adhesives available from 3M and Can West Label are:
#200MP High–performance Acrylic – This industry standard adhesive provides excellent overall performance with exceptional temperature resistance (to 400°F short term), superior UV resistance, and excellent chemical & humidity resistance. It provides superior bond strength to metal , excellent bond strength to HSE (high surface energy) plastics, but less than fair bond strength to LSE (low surface energy) plastics. Superior cohesion (excellent shear strength to resist edge lifting and slippage), and offers short-term repositionability for placement accuracy. Available in:
- 467 MP – .002 thickness, ideal for application to relatively smooth surfaces and ideal for use with our .003 aluminum foil and Lexans®.
- 468 MP - .005 thickness, ideal for application to relatively smooth surfaces and ideal for use with our .003 aluminum foil and Lexans®.
#300 High-strength Acrylic – This adhesive is ideal for applications requiring greater initial adhesion, especially to LSE plastics. Its ability to flow quickly makes this adhesive ideal for laminating to textured plastic surfaces. Adhesion performance to metals is very good. Temperature performance is up to 250°F for most applications. It also offers very good UV and chemical resistance and excellent humidity resistance. - 9471 - .002 thickness, ideal for use with our .003 aluminum foil and Lexans®
#300LSE High-strength Acrylic, Solvent Free – This adhesive offers a much higher peel bond strength to low surface energy plastics such as polypropylene and polyethelene. This solventless adhesive has very good UV, chemical, humidity and temperature (300°F short term) resistance. It is the best choice for attaching graphics to plastic surfaces. Available in: 9471LE - .002” ideal for application to smooth surfaces and for use with our .003 aluminum foil and Lexans®.
#320 High-tenacity Acrylic - this adhesive provides high bond strength to a variety of surfaces and is ideal for OEM labels requiring high temperature resistance of –40°F to 300°F, extremely high bond, and long term stability. Available exclusively on 3M® 7940 matte silver aluminum foil.
#350 High-holding Acrylic – this is a modified acrylic adhesive designed for high bond strength to most plastics & metals with excellent holding strength even at high temperatures (up to 350°F short term). Also features very good UV & chemical resistance and excellent humidity resistance. Available exclusively on 3M® 7930 Gloss White Destructible Vinyl.
