When dealing with exposure or potential exposure to corrosive chemicals or atmospheres, stainless steel is the best choice:
304 stainless steel – utility grade stainless steel available in mill finish (non-polished), brushed no. 4 finish (appearance similar to your kitchen sink) and mirror bright finish (highly polished). Available in a variety of thicknesses including .025, .032, .050 and .060. Ideal for serial number plates, specification plates, warning & caution plates and identification plates that require protection from corrosion.
316 stainless steel – features higher nickel content than 304 grade stainless steel resulting in a material that is even stronger and more corrosion resistant. Available in mill finish (non-polished), brushed no. 4 finish (appearance similar to your kitchen sink) and mirror bright finish (highly polished). Available in a variety of thicknesses including .025, .032, .050 and .060. Ideal for serial number plates, specification plates, warning & caution plates and identification plates that require heightened protection from corrosion, especially H2S locations.
